Abilities & Talents

Abilities & Talents

Build your character with active abilities, passive talents, and equipment that supports them. Character levels award skill points. Open or to inspect the effects, level requirements, and costs of your next choice.

Character progression:

Resource

Purpose

Player XP

Advances your Galithin character level.

Skill points

Unlock and upgrade abilities and talents.

Coins

Pay transactions that show a coin cost.

Mana

Pays eligible casting costs and regenerates over time.

Minecraft XP

Vanilla XP, including anvil repair levels.

Guild XP

Advances your guild, independently of character level.

Dungeon completion, eligible daily rewards, and custom queue fishing rewards can give character XP. Quest reward delivery uses Minecraft XP. A gear item's level, an ability's upgrade level, and a guild's level are also separate values.

Your character level affects equipment eligibility, brewable progression, and Rift Crafter requirements. An orb craft records the level when the shard is inserted; leveling later does not change that craft. Consult the relevant Armory, Alchemist, and Custom Tables guides.

Casting abilities:

Press your assigned Swap Hands key to cast the selected ability. Hold your assigned Sneak key and press Swap Hands to select the next one. Use the assignments in your own Minecraft Controls; this web page cannot show your live keybinds like the in-game tutorial dialog does.

An ability can perform an immediate action, remain active, or arm an effect for a later event. Inspect its mana cost, cooldown, trigger, and duration. Unlocks and upgrades spend skill points and sometimes coins. Some families offer specializations with different behavior.

Removing or downgrading a choice returns its skill points under the menu's rules, but can cost coins. Coins spent on the original choice are not refunded. Read the confirmation before committing.

—

Soul Drainer · Unexpected Strike

Vein Miner

Cautious Miner · Void Miner

Movement and stealth:

Jetstar provides a movement aura; it is not unrestricted flight. Skywalker launches you, while Dash and Warp are directed movement choices. Phantom provides invisibility; attacking ends it. Ghost Touch also ends on actions such as breaking a block or opening inventory. These do not let you freely walk through solid blocks.

Healing, support, and combat:

Heal restores your own health, Group Heal helps eligible nearby players, and Cleanse removes supported negative effects. Runecaster, Voodoo, and Mana Weaver create support spell totems; these are unrelated to death-recovery Soul Totems. Auras, reactive thorns, landing effects, mana defenses, and soul-stack abilities have their own triggers rather than one shared casting pattern.

Gathering and finding loot:

Hunter reveals dungeon loot and points of interest. Farmer and its branches support eligible crop growth. Vein Miner works with eligible block groups; its branches still obey world and claim rules. Check the chosen branch for its range and resource use.

Passive talents:

A talent activates automatically when its condition is met; you do not cast it from the ability bar. Some give ongoing stats, while others require low health, high health, low mana, high mana, a kill, a status effect, or a Lucky Hit.

Exclusive talent pairs:

Pair

Build decision

Shockwave / Ruthless

A stun-related explosion or increased hits against stunned targets.

Endurance / Death Wish

Low-health defense or low-health damage.

Cryo Trigger / Ice Shatter

Area frost triggering or freezing/shattering a target.

Last Breath / Mana Rage

Low-mana healing efficiency or low-mana damage.

Venom Curse / Toxic Chain

Weakening poisoned targets or spreading poison-triggered auras.

You cannot keep both talents in an exclusive pair unlocked. Fatal Strike, Mana Steal, Life Leach, and Cleave share a cap of six allocated points. That shared cap can block an upgrade even when you still have points to spend.

Temporary stacks have a limit and expire after their listed duration. A trigger chance is not guaranteed. Named trinket effects are equipped item effects, not extra ordinary purchases in the talent menu. See Trinkets & Necklaces.

Profile and statistics:

Use for your profile or for another player's saved public view, where account access is enabled. Your profile brings together level, XP, health, attack damage, defense, and maximum mana, with equipment and links to abilities, talents, guild, friends, statistics, badges, and settings. Viewing somebody's gear does not let you move it.

opens statistics, and shows recorded runs. Records distinguish completed runs, early portal escapes, deaths, and timer losses. They also track exploration, chest types and traps, mob kills, mined ores, and Soul Flame activity. A lifetime pickup counter is not your current spendable balance.

Fishing, parkour, and friend relationship records have their own statistics. If a recent event is missing, report the time and server so its recorded result can be checked.

Badges:

Open your profile's badge selector. Left-click an unlocked badge to equip it, or an equipped badge to remove it. You can display up to three badges. Locked badges cannot be equipped.

Badge

Recognition

Founder

Participation before public release.

Early Supporter

Support before public release.

Alpha Tester

Testing before public release.

First Portal

Historical discovery of Galithin's very first dungeon portal.

Tutorial Complete

Completion of the full guided tutorial.

Historical badges are not promised to everyone joining today. First Portal is not an automatic reward for each player's first portal. Completing one practice chapter is not the full tutorial completion. Badges display recognition; equipping one does not award an equipment stat bonus.

Personal settings:

Use Settings in your own profile to adjust private-message privacy, chat visibility and filtering, notification sounds, guild roster display, guild chat, lobby join/leave messages, NPC dialogue, and damage indicators. Message privacy can restrict senders by staff, friends, guild, or party relationships.

These are personal preferences. Hiding ordinary chat does not remove server rules or administrative notices. Some settings depend on account access. Friendship and communication commands are covered in Guilds & Claims.

For safe practice, start the guided tutorial with , stop it with , or use to read the in-game guide. Tutorial practice items and its temporary guild do not carry into normal Survival progression.
